I forget.

I’ve been thinking about creating something like a blog. A vehicle for sharing what I’m seeing, hearing, thinking, and learning in something closer to real-time.

I thought about reviving a blog I began writing years ago, but abandoned, and even about having someone help me set it up, create a structure that would allow it to work for me and what I want to be doing.

But just now I realized I could probably just go back to using my Medium account, which I’ve also neglected. I’m going to try this for a bit. We’ll see how it goes.

What prompts all of this? Life. Unusual inputs in abundance triggering questions, thoughts, and perspectives. Reading. Lots and lots of reading across a range of subjects. And of course business – X Genesis, 10.10.10, GAN/GSSN, Startup Communities, conversations with entrepreneurs and investors – and family and friends, the people I’m closest to. And, finally, age. At 66, I have a different perspective about all kinds of things than I had in my 50s, 40s, 30s, 20s and teens. And, like the backward look through the telescope, many of the things that seemed many years ago to be huge to me now seem small and insignificant.

I’ve been writing every morning for the past two months, not sharing any of it. Not publishing or distributing, just writing. It might be time to open up a bit about what I’ve been thinking. And I hope to learn from others as they react or respond to what I share here.
